Single: Got Some/Just Breathe Lançamento: 16/11 no Reino Unido em 7" & CD Pearl Jam em campanha para o fechamento de Guantánamo Uma coalizão de megabandas e músicos, ultrajados com o fato de que música (incluindo a deles mesmos) está sendo usada para atormentar detentos na prisão de Guantánamo, está juntando forças com militares aposentados e ativistas liberais. O grupo vai pressionar o presidente dos EUA Barack Obama pelo fechamento do centro de detenção para suspeitos de terrorismo administrado pela Marinha norte-americana em Cuba. Pearl Jam, R.E.M. e Trent Reznor, líder do Nine Inch Nails, estão entre os músicos que se juntaram à Campanha Nacional pelo Fechamento de Guantánamo, que foi lançada nesta terça-feira (20). Em nome da campanha, o National Security Archieve em Washington está entrando com um pedido, baseado no Freedom of Information Act, para a liberação de documentos secretos com detalhes sobre o uso de música alta como recurso em interrogatórios. “ Em Guantánamo, o governo dos EUA transformou a jukebox em um instrumento de tortura”, diz Thomas Blanton, diretor executivo do Archieve, um instituto de pesquisas não governamental.
